Together with a northern German logistics provider, they reload consignments 560 kilometers south of the branch Karlsruhe that were loaded in France, or are shipped through the south-western neighboring country to Barcelona, San Sebastian and destinations in Portugal.
Live operations started on 4 February 2019. Two members of inTime's quality management team coordinated the training on site for one week. With success: after just a few weeks, the profit contribution of the shipments has increased significantly, while the vehicle volume and the number of empty kilometers have been reduced. Shipments are handled around the clock - from smaller cartons in the van to large racks. They can easily handle several semis at the same time. A transshipment usually takes between 15 and 45 minutes of time. Thomas Wechsung from inTime's Operational Controlling explains: "On the long distances, we save capacity and increase the quality of the shipments. This gives us the opportunity to serve even more customers from the Lyon hub in the future.
