Partnership with purpose
The logistics company had been working with the digital product developer prior to the partnership. inTime not only uses the fleet management system purchased and developed by RIO, but also works with the company's products on a regular basis due to its links with the automotive industry. With its high level of digitalisation, inTime was the ideal logistics partner to test new RIO products in practice, gain experience with the systems and then use them in line with the market. The pioneering role that inTime is taking in the use of the products is in line with its digital transformation strategy, which is designed to drive the company's sustainable growth and strengthen its market position. With RIO as a developer of digital products and inTime as a logistics service provider with a high degree of digitalisation, the companies are entering into a cooperation that will use the synergy effects of both parties to drive forward their joint digitalisation projects.
Joint digitisation projects
inTime and RIO want to combine their strengths to create an end-to-end digital logistics process. To achieve this, RIO's products will be linked to inTime's internal systems. "We are currently creating an interface between RIO WebTMS and our internal transport management system. The integration is intended to simplify and optimise order execution, status and tracking messages for our customers. Ultimately, it is about simplifying work steps by merging our systems and collecting data on one user interface," explains Gerd Röttger. Integrating the systems is the first step towards further digitalisation. In addition to GPS data and labour time data, technical trailer data and perspective live camera images from the loading area can also be recorded via the RIO Box telematics system. This makes it possible to monitor both the vehicle and the load, and to optimise both the use of the vehicle and the planning of the route.
Collaboration also simplifies the procurement process. The aim is to minimise the effort for the customer and inTime through seamless data exchange and to offer a continuous, paperless logistics solution from transport order to proof of delivery and payment. "The individual digitisation projects of inTime and RIO build on and complement each other. In the future, this will provide us with added value in all phases of a transport order," says Gerd Röttger.
transport logistic 2023
"One of the most important developments we observed at the trade fair, in addition to the topic of alternative fuels, is the ongoing digitalisation of logistics. With our digital transformation strategy, we are focusing on innovative technologies and processes in order to offer our customers even better services and solutions," says Gerd Röttger. InTime not only had the opportunity to present its digitalisation projects, but also to showcase its value to both potential and existing customers at the joint stand with RIO at transport logistic. Expanding into other business areas such as Full Truck Loads (FTL), as well as increasing customer collaboration through the networking of digital platforms, were alos in the spotlight. "The trade fair was a great success. At inTime, we see how valuable and inspiring face-to-face contact is, even though we live and breathe digitalisation. It also gave us the opportunity to get direct feedback from our customers. This is why we were particularly pleased to receive such a positive response from our customers. We had a lot of fun exhibiting together with our cooperation partner RIO and are looking forward to further cooperation," says Gerd Röttger.
